It seems that a lot of people hated the ending.. but I loved where it went. The saddest scene was the scene where CG was at the hair salon crying… but when they met again.. though it’s bitter, I would have been rather disappointed if they got back together…

There was a previous comment about her being 35 now.. and whether or not she should endeavor into a different relationship. And, YES! By all means, YES she should! The comment is correct, she is 35 now, and there is a reason why they didn’t work out the first two times, whether pregnancy or not. Someone needs to move on first. It was because they didn’t move on that’s why when they met again, they went back into the same routine. It’s sad that it’s not a “They’re forever together” kind of ending, but it’s realistic. What if there was another obstacle that occurred at age 40, and another one at age 50. AND of course there’s also that what-if of “They manage to get past it all” but like she said in the end, she was able to listen to “their song” and smile about their memories. They weren’t meant to be and now they both found happiness that makes them know how to love and live better. They were each other’s life coach. I like that. It was a beautiful ending.

我覺得好可惜因為他們真的曾經愛的很深很深，差不多到要死的地步。如果那樣的話，我想我是沒辦法放棄。如果說我是25歲就是，但春嬌在劇裡面都已經35歲了，還學別人想要談戀愛，活得比前男友更好嗎？那一開始就應該這樣，而不是等到5年後才是啊。志明也是，人家妙麗愛你那麼久，你最後沒了春嬌還是選擇跟一個好像小妹妹一樣的人在一起，那真的搞不懂。I liked the idea of the ending and that it matches the title, but it really wasn’t thought out well like somebody else said. But overall, I enjoyed this drama. HOWEVER, I wished there were a little more closing to what happened to Yixiang and her daughter. I also remember Zhiming said that he was NEVER going to leave his mother, but instead he moved to taipei? WHAT!?! no way! Ok I am being very critical but I was expecting a lot from the ending!

Actually the ending didn’t have to call for such a sad one. It’s not memorable. Simply coz at the last point when they meet, they still look the most suitable and compatible for one another. I guess maybe the last part was not developed well enough… the side roles didn’t play their role well.

great drama… i know for some people this ending its non sense…

but for me this is a great ending… sometimes u cant force what is not belong to you… maybe if you letting go,,you will find another happiness…

But I had to skip / fast forward a BUNCH in this drama.
It gets so boring during some parts.

  five years since they apart,,that hair dresser always stay with chun jiao.. he is stay as a good friend! just because chun jiao not said “i love you” ,, it doesn’t mean not love… i saw chun jiao found sence of security with him.. he can shared his story to him and he can comfort chun jiao..i think thats why chun jiao choose started a new life with him…

    But I understand, after being through so much, both party is tired. What you want at the age of 28 and at 30+ might be different. I guess we need to hit 30+ before we can decide how we’ll act if we’re in their shoes.
    
    Putting the story aside, I guess the chemistry the actor and actress of Zhi Ming and Chun Jiao shared was so great that any other partner you fit them with seemed less ideal. That’s why they looked slightly less realistic when they’re with their final partners at the ending than with each other. If everything were to happen in real life scenario, I guess everyone’s reaction would be different.

At first i really hated the ending. But after i digested the show and think it through agn, i still think that it is nt a bad ending and is certainly a gd show^^

People can trash the ending all they want, but I found that it was suitable for the drama. After all the crap that has happened, we assume they’ll just end up together, but that really kills the meaning behind “Ex Boyfriend.” Too many things have kept them apart (Xue Zhang, Miao Ke Li, etc.), and I think it was implied at some point that it was just their fate. The writers were smart to capitalize on the title of the drama and what having an “ex” means – you move on, but you cherish the memories and lessons you’ve learned from being with that one person.

I enjoyed the drama overall…never knew Kaohsiung had such nice scenery, and I’m betting top dollar Li Qian Na will be flooded with hair product endorsement deals.

  yes! i thinked its the meaning of ex-boyfriend… every love story had a problem,,,but in this drama zhi ming and qun jiao can’t moving on! they trapped in their EX memory…. untill they realized thats just a perfect moment… how to letting go bad memories and tressure the great memories its the point… ex is meaning it just an ex… let it go… dont obsest on it.. you still had another happiness waiting for you only if you try to left behind the sad memories

OMG I HATE THIS ENDING. Ok true I agree that it’s more realistic and sends a message across that we must let go of our past in order to live on …. BUT Zhi Ming and Chun Jiao have been in love with each other for 10 years!! They were in love before either of them met again!! And in those 5 years that Zhi Ming was with ML, Chun Jiao was alone the whole time AND then she ends up with some random hairdresser -____- How can they just find someone else so quick and move on when they’ve been in love for like 15 years OMG….

The ending killed the whole thing -___- it took them10+ yr to realized how much they loved each other.. but it only took one night for them to moved on??? what?!?!? even reality isn’t this effed up………….. -___-

    i agree with you, but for those years.. they never really stop loving each other though. based on my own judgment.. she could’ve been with someone else for that 5 year period.. but she didn’t . to me that just tells me how she never really let go of him… i could be wrong but that’s what i got from the drama hahaha
